TV26 and the Digital TV Transition

On February 9, 2009, all full power broadcast television stations will be required to transmit digitally and turn off their analog signals. TV26 is not required to follow these guidelines since we are not a Class A broadcast station. If you are going to be purchasing a digital converter box to be used with your antenna, be sure it has a feature called "Analog Pass Thru" to ensure that you will continue receiving our signal. The following local retailers have confirmed that they carry the proper converter boxes that will allow you to continue receiving TV26 after the digital conversion:

Something new out of something old

"The TV26 REWIND"

The newest weekend program on TV26 is actually something old. We call it the TV26 Rewind. As you might imagine, we've built up quite an archive over the last few years and now we're sharing it with you. Each weekend we'll feature different people, places and events from our archives. You can watch this "new" program every Saturday and Sunday night beginning at 9:00 pm each night. Occasionally this program may get pre-empted with other community events.

What was the big story in your neighborhood this past year?

If you don't know, we have someone who does! Normally, TV26 does not cover the news. However, all this month, our "All Around County" programs features the news in review as seen through the eyes and ears of several local newspapers. We'll get specific with editors, photographers and reporters from the Northwest Signal in Napoleon, the Crescent News in Defiance, the Bryan Times in Bryan, and the Fulton County Expositor in Wauseon. Our topics range from education to economic development to sports and of course, the economy and how it is impacting local lives here in Northwest Ohio. Our on-line on-demand versions of these interviews contain a lot of additional content that we didn't have time to air in our broadcast programs. Our thanks to all of our area print partners for being able to produce this series of programs.

Each night in the 7:00 pm hour, watch the TV26 Community Bulletin Board for announcements of upcoming area events. If your non-profit group would like to get it's events added, send it to us as a "Power Point" slide and we will put it on for you, free of charge! Simply email your slide to ken@tv26.net.
